INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW

I appreciate all the emails I've received, and I'm very happy to answer your questions.
I understand the hesitation in posting comments.
I've had a number of people ask me why I have a business and product line that's cruelty- free; yet I carry leather bags.

That's a great question, and my answer is; I designed the line of No Sacrifice Bags products so that they can be used by everyone.    Whether you live a vegan lifestyle, or you love your leather bags; No Sacrifice works in concert with, or in place of leather.
No Sacrifice, just doesn't choose to work with animal products, and makes no judgement on anyones personal choices.

We've put great effort into sourcing out high quality faux leather products, and they are not inexpensive.  Combine this with the wages the companies we work with pay their skilled craftspeople; and you start to understand why North American made products are in short supply.

Made In Toronto, Love Handles™, along with our Made in New York Grassroots™and MT Market Tote; are all crafted in Ultrasuede™the luxury fabric immortalized by the great American designer Halston.

Our faux croc, and the faux Lambskin material used to craft our, (Made in New York) le Mobile purse organizer, is purchased from a US company,  who have been "Fashion Engineering ® "animal friendly products since 1947."

Save Our Shape preservers aka SOS, and dust covers, are made in Canada.

A portion of all sales is donated to charities we believe in.   Covenant House, Pollinator Partnership.  SPCA, Food Banks Canada and Feeding America.org

It's been hugely challenging, and we still have miles to go; but No Sacrifice refuses to compromise.

LOVE HANDLES ™

This is another product developed from a personal need.    I have a number of vintage alligator pocketbooks, and unfortunately the handles are the first part of any purse that show wear, and deterioration.

There is no way to prevent our hands from depositing perspiration, oil, and salt, or heaven forbid nicotine, on the handles and straps of our bags.
Years ago women wore gloves, and this helped to protect, and preserve their investment.

After spending a considerable sum, on my handbag collection, I didn't want my leather handles degrading.
I played around with a number of shapes and sizes, and sent in another request to Hermes hoping that they would accept to make my "love handles" to match the colours in my collection.

That was almost five years ago, and two years ago I was getting desperate, as one of my most costly bags was already compromised (notice the darkened shiny areas on handles) from gentle seasonal use.

Now my Himalayan doesn't leave home without Love Handles™

On humid days I would fold up a piece of tissue, so it wasn't visible outside the palm of my hand, and although it was better than nothing, I thought I could come up with something better.

Using one of my favourite materials; Ultrasuede® the fabric immortalised by Halston, I went to work making some simple samples to suffice, until I heard back from Hermes.
I found a hexagon shape worked well for my needs.   The shape gives a little extra width across my fingers, and isn't obviously visible; which is a important to me.   I  wouldn't  leave them on my handles 24/7 like some people do with their Hermes Twilly scarves.
I use them on hot humid days, or after a manicure.    I always carry a pair in my bags in case my hands perspire.   If I come in contact with something sticky, or grimy; they give me some protection until I can wash my hands.    I always use them when I travel, on my handbags and my luggage.

I use the small hexagon Love Handle most of the time, as I have a small hand; and although they are not snug on my Birkin handles, I find them fast and easy to remove.
When I need a little extra protection , or I'm not in a place where I would put my bag down, I use the newest model for rolled handles
.   These fit snug, and don't bulk, so they are not obvious.

Both styles can be used on shoulder straps too.   You can wrap one around both straps keeping them together, and wrap one around the straps where you naturally hold on to them.    Straps stay on your shoulder without that annoying slip.

Love Handles are completely washable, and latex free.   Made from 100% recycled material, they are eco friendly, and cruelty-free.    Plus a portion of each sale is donated to Pollinator Partnership,  so you're helping promote the health of pollinators critical to our food, and ecosystems. What's not to love about that?

SAVE OUR SHAPE™ PRESERVERS Patent Pending

Take a peak inside your closet and what do you see?

You see investment.

Investment of money certainly; also an investment of time.    Money and time spent shopping for clothes, shoes, and handbags; but also the money and time invested in upkeep.
Laundering, ironing, folding, brushing, polishing, driving to the dry cleaners and shoe repair; all represent a tremendous investment of both money, and time.

The most important investment, is extremely personal; the investment in yourself.
Every item in your closet, reveals a little piece of the picture of your life.

Some of us are minimalist; with well edited wardrobes.

Some of us are maximalist, with multiples of everything.

Some of us can purge, delete, and donate; and some us hang onto everything.

Whatever your style; two items in your closet often represent the greatest investment; handbags, and shoes.

Patent Pending; No Sacrifice S.O.S. Save Our Shape preservers, can help maintain the shape of  those handbags.

Designed to fit a variety of brands and styles;  S.O.S. are lightweight, versatile, and adjustable.
Made In Canada, these inflatable preservers, are a delicious combination of a Pistachio Macaron pillow; nestled inside a Champagne sleeper bag.

At last, inflation you can control.    And that's a beautiful thing!

LE MOBILE™

This is where it all began.
In 2007, I submitted my first design to Hermes.    It was a purse organizer insert that I could use each and every day, allowing me to change my bags in mere seconds.

I  like to pair my purse with my attire, and occasion, and I have a core of key necessities;  lipstick,  comb, readers, phone, breath spray, hand sanitizer and facial tissue.        I may also carry an array of  other items; but my core items are the soul of my purse.

I was thrilled when Hermes approved my design, and I happily settled in to waiting; which is what you do, with Hermes.

I was so excited, I didn't even think to question, or complain.    My answer was always yes, whatever the craftsman thinks, is fine with me.    And it was.

Now I'm not saying, I'm not thrilled with the level of craftsmanship, and the quality of the leather.
I'm thrilled to bits, by their perfectly stitched exquisiteness, and I love the colours, and  the gold foil stamping done especially for me.   La Donna e Mobile.   Woman is flighty.

My purse organizers, allow me to change my bags, as quickly as I change my mind.

And change my mind; I do.

Size wise the small insert was perfect for my Hermes Garden Party TPM, and Birkin 25, Birkin 30,  Kelly28 and Kelly 32 bags.   The medium size were especially made for a Birkin 35cm and  Hermes Victoria. Once I got over the initial thrill of my little bespoke purse inserts; I bemoaned the fact that the pockets had not been gusseted; as I had requested.
I could fit my core necessities inside; but it made the outside profile of my organizers misshapen; and that bothered me.

I first thought about asking Hermes to remake one for me, then a thought occurred; why not save some money, and make one myself ?

Tossing ideas around with my good friend Michael Tonello, we decided to venture forth; and this is how No Sacrifice began.
